Consul General Lyle and Embassy Officers Build Cultural Ties in Jiangxi
April 27, 2009: As part of ConGen Wuhan’s outreach activities in Jiangxi, Consul General Lyle and Embassy officers Margaret Hsiang and Brooke Spelman visited Jiangxi Province Museum. They were warmly greeted by Director Peng Minghan and took the opportunity to view the museum’s exquisite collections. During the visit, CG Lyle introduced the Ambassador’s Fund for Cultural Preservation and Director Peng responded enthusiastically with three potential projects to help preserve and display its jade, silk and bronze collections. After further discussions, both sides agreed that the preservation and display of the museum’s exquisite ancient bronze collection, dating back to the Shang Dynasty, will be an excellent idea for 2010.
